Jumanji – What the Hell Happened?

The original Jumanji was a hit movie that starred the late Robin Williams.  It was a fun romp through a fantasy world meets the, then, modern world.  It had action, it had comedy and it was released at the right time for that type of movie.

I mentioned in the article that the idea of Jumanji is open to TONS of limitless possibilities for stories, why reboot the one that Robin Williams was in? Let Dwayne Johnson have his own take in the board game world of Jumanji- no need to stink up what we already had.

The movie directors have run out of ideas

This happened way before our time, my friend.

For some reason they love to make reboots or sequels of movies literally JUST after an actor passes away that was in the original, this has happened so much that i notice it often.

triverse2839d ago

That is very true. Interesting point.

They love making reboots of older movies, anime, video games and usually F them all up. Comics books is like the only thing that is doing good to an extent.

If you overlook the reboots every half decade to decade in comics, then yes. I gave up on comics in the late 90's after enduring the whole "alternate" covers craze that swept through a few years prior. The prices just got higher and higher and the big name publishers kept adding more monthlies to the point it was impossible to follow the stories I cared about.

Can't stand the guy. Will put his name to anything to keep himself in the limelight. Its like he's in every movie these days.

SarcasticDuck2839d ago

the problem with this remake:
-Robin Williams gets lost in the jungle: comes back like a crazy @ss Tarzan.
-Rock gets lost in the jungle: comes back as Rambo with futuristic machine guns, an army of a John Cena / shark mixed-creature and ready to get laid with all the ladies on the movie!
