The X-Files: David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Chris Carter 'On Board' For Season 11, Per Fox

You better believe The X-Files will be back.

During a conference call with reporters to tout Fox’s 2016-17 schedule, chairman and CEO Dana Walden confirmed that there have been “conversations” with series creator Chris Carter and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, adding, “I believe everyone is on board to do another installment of the show.” Walden conceded that there will be some scheduling hurdles to overcome, but, “Hopefully, this time next year we will have more news.” (Translation: Don’t expect Season 11 until the 2017-18 TV season at the earliest.)

The story is too old to be commented.

That is just awesome news. It's too bad we have to wait for the 2017/2018 season but at least we know it's coming.

Yeah I love it. Hope the season is longer than 6 episodes this time. Seems so far away

This time if it's only 6 episodes LESS FILLER

Yeah I love Monster of the Week episodes and the cases but they were done when the show had 20-22 episodes with the Alien mytho dotted along.

There should be 2 cases. One Monster of the week and a supernatural one. The first two and the last two should be Alien mytho stories. It's why the finale was lacking and felt like part 1 of a two part event.
