FGE - In the midst of superhero brawls and big-budget alien attacks, Money Monster stands out as a issue-oriented film that offers moviegoers some counter-programming during this blockbuster season. That being said, this film may fit in more with its boisterous, ostentatious compatriots than one would first assume. This star driven action thriller serves to tell a story that is intensely compelling, filled to the brim with suspense, oozing with intrigue, and even has a dash of humor thrown in the mix now and again. This fourth directorial effort from Jodie Foster may be lacking in the area of comic book characters, but it excels at being an enjoyable couple of hours at the theater as a left field option in the heat of the summer moviegoing season.
