Variety: “Assassination Classroom: Graduation,” the second part of a two-part action comedy based on a hit comic, debuted atop the Japanese box office for the weekend of March 26-27.
Bowing on 319 screens, with Toho distributing, the film earned $5.64 million on 545,000 admissions. That was more than 50% higher than the first-weekend take of the prior film, “Assassination Classroom,” which was released in March 2015 and finished with $24 million.
I am actually not surprised at all by this.
