This movie was fantastic, any comparisons to Transformers...well they make my blood boil..Michael Bay isn't in the same league as Snyder. To see critics give garbage like Iron Man 3 decent/high reviews and then rate this so poorly is mind boggling.

The paying public

This movie was not fantastic by any means, it could have been so much better and it should have been but it wasn't. I'm glad the critics hated it too to be honest as maybe they'll up their game (doubt it though) as everything from editing to writing was piss poor. Go watch 10 Cloverfield Lane people, that's an example of what a good solid film is.

i think the reviewing critics are a bit problematic most of the time. it always felt to me that the 'professional critics" have had an axe to grind with this movie since the beginning. they announced affleck as batman, they bitched and complained. they announce gal gadot, they bitched and complained. jesse eisenberg... yep you guessed it - they bitched and complained.

i had a few gripes about the movie. i'll fully admit it but i took it for what it is. it's a comic book movie. not something meant to change the world. i wanted to be entertained and i was fully entertained and engaged the entire time.

i'll likely see this one more time in theaters and will most certainly be picking up the directors cut in the summer.

loved the movie! worth the money at the theatres

It was atrocious. If you love film and film making, you'll see this for the absolute turd it is. It's literally one of the worst films I've ever seen, and it richly deserves it's measly 28% on Rottentomatoes.

I honestly don't understand why this movie is getting such widespread hate from critics.

Is it because people think Superman is dead dead?. Do people understand that death of superman story line is also being used?.

Personally it was entertaining and refreshing. I like that they took some bold risk and change things a bit.

The characters are a bit different. Superman from Man of Steel is still unsure of his place in the world and what he is suppose to be. A hero, their God or nothing at all?. Martha did try to help by telling him to be earths hero but it was obvious that he was still not sure.

This is a far cry from the usual boy scout, nationalist Superman representing truth justice and the american way who is normally so full of himself that just automatically switched to be an absolute hero as soon as he started wearing the red cape.

Batman is old and tried. He has already been through a lot and is slipping and losing his way. He was slowly becoming more vicious and unforgiving.

In the end when he said he failed him what he was actually saying was that he has lost his way and he vowed to get back to where he was before.

I like there were real internal struggle for both main characters and the writers and actors did do a great job fleshing them out.

what does that mean? everyone is entitled to their own opinion, there is no correct answer.

Well seeing as majority of the paying public hated the movie...I'd say in this case both were right. Of course critics aren't right all the time and neither is the paying public.
