Steven Moffat has decided that his “timey wimey” as showrunner of Doctor Who has come to an end and he will step down as the show’s lead writer and executive producer after six series at the helm, RadioTimes.com can reveal.

Like it or not, Moffat's work propelled the series to its peak ratings. The Matt Smith years in particular are some of the biggest in the series history. He can't be all bad.

It could do with a change up. I think the fact I'm not too bothered about having to wait until next year kind of says it all.
