Ah, it’s that time of year again. Awards season, when the stars put on their gladrags, support their films, get drunk at the Golden Globes, win or lose some awards, and walk a red carpet to get asked who they’re wearing. The end goal of all this, the holy grail of this period, is of course the Oscars.
It may be a self-congratulatory jamboree that only honours a certain type of film, but nonetheless it honours very good films, highlighting those that are feats of writing, direction, acting, and various technical areas, even if it does generally ignore more commercially successful and genre films.

Oscars 2023 might witness new rounds of celebrations, accolades, and the usual reminiscence of the Slapgate fiasco.
