Variety: Universal and Disney have set new yearly records for worldwide grosses, well above 20th Century Fox’s 2014 record of $5.5 billion, thanks to “Jurassic World” and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
Universal finished the year with $6.89 billion, with $1.67 billion of that from “Jurassic World.” Disney followed with $5.85 billion, including $1.33 billion from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
