And so the wait for another begins...

skcej3045d ago

As long as they make it great again I don't care how long it takes!

barb_wire3044d ago

Won't have to wait long.. Episode VIII comes out Christmas 2017.

Also, 'Star Wars: Rogue One' comes out Christmas 2016.

dcbronco3044d ago

They should have filmed it as one year long group of sessions and done retouch, re-shoot and filler after each release. Then the trilogy could have been an annual week of Christmas event. Though if the standalones have issues attracting the audience like the main story they can add things later to main story that are resolved in the standalones based on fan reaction.

2017 is long, and i'm not even interested in Rogue One

hope it has a better end fight and more acrobatic, because this movie had a too weak villain compared to the older movies, the fght was weak and looked like to children playing. Without spoiling anything the movie was great in many ways, but not serius enough.

Zefros3044d ago

yeah i know, but you can still have a more epic fight scene at the end, like have more over the top light saber fights. If you compare this to star wars 1 - 3 the fight scenes in this new movie is weak. I won't compare it to 4-6 because those movies had worce technology and at that time it was great. The sith in this movie looks weak compared to darth maul og any of the other siths. I'm okay with a female jedi, but make her look strong in the next installments, make her look as strong as anakin was becoming, only then we will se something awesome.

I thought it was great. It was another throwback to the original films.

Both Force users weren't trained so it would be strange for them to do the things that were done in the prequels.

Maybe for the sequel after some training we'll get to see more acrobatic fighting. But I hope not.

pompombrum3044d ago

Hopefully they got their nostalgia out of the way with. Episode 7 was amazing but they copied far too many elements from the original trilogy.. also I hope the first order have executed that damn designer for not once, not twice but thwice designing flawed super weapons that can be destroyed by a single fighter with a precise shot..

Zefros3044d ago

I hope you are right, but i really don't think so, because now she is gonna get trained by Luke, and that means it's the same process as in ep 5, where luke gets trained by yoga, instead it's Rey, and the outcome might also be predictable, she might loose ( empire strikes back)the fight against the Sith.

pompombrum3044d ago (Edited 3044d ago )

Honestly, I expect a time skip and it focusing on after Luke trained her. It set itself up nicely for that but if they do show it though, on a positive note, they'll probably also show Kylo's training which would be interesting to see how they add Sith training into the canon material.

Eidolon3044d ago

It took more than that...

maniacmayhem3044d ago

I agree.

Now that they got the throwback, soft re-boot out of the way and characters have been established it's time to go in a new route.

Hopefully the Knights of Ren and Captain Phasma will take more of a center stage in the next sequel.

no_more_heroes3044d ago

I WANT KYLO REN'S HEAD ON A STAKE!!!

(sorry, I just came back from seeing it)

Go do it so, we're waiting..
