EB: Star Wars: The Force Awakens is finally here, and it is a masterpiece. There, I said it, right off the bat, but J.J.’s accomplishment deserves the praise, and I’m not just being an overly excited lifetime fanboy either. This film is easily one of 2015’s best, and quite possibly one of the Star Wars franchise’s top emotional thrill rides. It is the exact cure us jaded Star Wars fans needed after suffering through the epic failures of the prequel films, which served as playgrounds for Lucas to show off his new tech, rather than focusing on building a world and characters fans could care about. The bad taste those films left in my mouth nearly destroyed my lifelong love affair with Star Wars, but thanks to a $4 billion purchase by Disney, and the talents of one Mr. Abrams with help from Larry Kasdan, my passion for the franchise that made me who I am has been ratcheted up to astronomical heights. Star Wars is back, and quite frankly, it may be even better than ever before.
You go into a movie thinking the main character is the good guy and then BAM–you had it all wrong.
MAI Review (2024): Phuong Anh Dao and Tran Thanh sparkle the brighest in this overdramatic movie.
One of 2023's biggest and dumbest creature features is making waves right now on streaming around the world.
Loved the film, glad its getting rave reviews.
