Since Saimi Raimi kicked things off in 2002 with his Tobey Maguire-starring Spider-Man movie, we’ve seen ol’ web-head facing off against all manner of nefarious villains. Maguire donned the suit for three full villain-stuffed feature films, before Andrew Garfield took over for two further movies, beginning with Marc Webb’s Lizard infested 2012 reboot The Amazing Spider-Man.
Both of these pre-Tom Holland screen Spideys really had their work cut out for them. New York City isn’t the friendliest place in the world at the best of times, but when Spider-Man is around it becomes a breeding ground for evildoers with silly names, impressive abilities and eye-catching costumes. And most of them seem to have an uncanny knack for kidnapping and/or attacking Peter Parker’s girlfriends and family members.
All of us took notice of a missing character that is important to the Spider-Man mythos. Parker’s red-headed girlfriend Mary Jane Watson. However, Garfield actually didn’t seem too bothered with it and suggested that breaking away from that cliché expectation for Spider-Man’s story is important.
On the soundtrack to the original "Spider-Man" movie, Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott sang about how only a hero could save us, but they weren't gonna stand there and wait. While the song was written for the 2002 Spidey, it feels apt for "The Amazing Spider-Man" films too.
A star of The Amazing Spider-Man has addressed the rumors that we'll be seeing them in this weekend's No Way Home.
Sorry guys, but Dane DeHaan's troll goblin is even worse than Venom. Still bleaching my mind of that nightmare.
Thought they were all pretty lame. Not the characters so to speak, just the way they were portrayed.
High hopes for the new one now its part of the MCU.
