How Did Doctor Who Manage To Waste a Companion Like Clara Oswald?

i09

It’s official: Clara Oswald has left the building, and Clara’s final season of Doctor Who is coming to a close—making her, depending on how you chart it, one of the longest-running companions in history. But even with all that time on the show, it never felt like Doctor Who knew how to solve a problem like Clara.

I have no earthly idea why Clara was written to be so shallow from the get-to. I admire what Face The Raven was trying to do for the character, but the send-off just feels too little too late.

Shitty writing...but it's Moffatt so you can't be surprised.

He can write something like Sherlock which is amazing but Doctor Who he just drops the ball constantly. I mean RTD was no perfect writer but he got the job done.

Yeah, not been impressed with this season, Capaldi is a fine actor, but he has been let down by poor scripts and direction.

His first season as the Doctor was totally ruined by Clara and her writing. The moaning, the crying, the anger, her love thing with Danny, her life outside of the TARDIS.

It really brought Capaldi down and he's a great actor

Heaven Sent and the Woman who lived were great because it focused heavily on him and not Clara.

I really liked some of the earlier Moffatt episodes especially the ones in Season 4. I think him and RTD are the same some good some average. As for Clara the time was up for her from the perspective it felt like he needed a new companion right about now so good timing IMO.

This season really didn't do much to rectify the place they'd written Clara. I guess part of that was the result of the actress's decision to not leave at the end of the last series. It's all felt a bit tacked on as a result.

Waste a companion. She was a horrible person, the epitome of selfish behaviour. Yes, she has moments of brilliance in a few episodes but moments are all there were. The rest of the time she was an infuriating character, not because she was written badly but because the character is a horrible person.

Back in Action Review: All in all, this movie is a somewhat disappointingly missed opportunity that never really capitalises on its potential, leaving the viewer with little to remember when the credits roll.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Reviw | RPadTV Episode 88

The latest Star Wars live-action series has wrapped up and the nerds at RPadTV are here to have a nerdy discussion about Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. Joining host Raymond Padilla are videogame journalist Paul Semel and Turtle Beach’s MacLean Marshall. The three will discuss what they liked and didn’t like about Star Wars: Skeleton Crew in a review video full of treasure, whimsy, and mayhem (or maybe two of those things).

Discussion topics include what the three thought about the mystery of At Attin, comparisons to The Goonies, how the show fits in with other Star Wars projects, the child actors, Jude Law’s mysterious character, and why the show resonates with some fans while leaving others flat.
