AVClub: Question: What’s the one thing funnier than zombie boobs? If your answer is “zombie dicks, duh,” then boy, are you in for a treat. Originally titled Scouts Vs. Zombies, a more apt title for Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse might be Millennials Vs. Zombies, given its aggressively generational approach. Blending elements of Superbad and Zombieland, this teen-oriented horror-comedy was written by a team of four screenwriters, which is apparently how many people it takes to come up with a strip club called “Lawrence Of Alabia” and a visual pun involving a zombie literally eating a teenage girl’s vagina. We also get zombie diarrhea jokes, zombie fat jokes, zombie selfie jokes, zombie cat-lady jokes, and zombie stripper jokes. And when all of this starts to seem too crass, out come the clichéd lessons about the importance of friendship and being who you are.

Now, after invading everything from film to television, and even the realm of classic literature, the flesh-eating undead have set their sights on their next target... The Boy Scouts of America. In Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, three boy scouts (Tye Sheridan, Logan Miller and Joey Morgan) find themselves teaming up with a shotgun-wielding cocktail waitress (Sarah Dumont) to defend their California town from a zombie invasion. It may not be the most original premise, but director Christopher Landon's riff on the zombie comedy does have a few things going for it.
saw this over the holidays and found it to be exactly what i was hoping for. stupid fun. loved when the one guy grabbed the police ladies boobs and gave them 2 quick squeezes before running away.

While I didn’t much care for watching it on the big-screen, if this had been a late-night Netflix watch Scouts Guide might have gone down alright. By that extremely low-standard, I suppose this is something of a success, but don’t be tricked into shelling out cash on a movie ticket, no matter how much you like zombie splatter. There are better options out there.
