Transformers: Akiva Goldsman Doesn't Want To 'Squander' The Human Element

Earlier this week, I spoke with Akiva Goldsman about his documentary episode of National Geographic's upcoming Breakthrough series (more on that soon!), but of course I also had to ask him about Transformers, since he lead the impressive writers room --- which included Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down), Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Art Marcum & Matt Holloway (Iron Man), Jeff Pinkner (Fringe), Steven DeKnight (Daredevil, Spartacus) and more -- who gathered this year to determine the future of that franchise.

Goldsman talked about the writers room process, how interconnected the new movies will be, and whether Transformers really need humans...

The humans are the weakest part of the series. I hope we follow Optimus wherever in space he is going for Transformers 5.
