TRR: When we last left Earth's mightiest heroes, they had gone their separate ways in the wake of the Battle of New York. Loki and the Chitauri invasion force had been dealt a staggering blow, yet an even greater threat — Thanos — still loomed on the horizon. Now writer/director Joss Whedon is at it again, bringing the Avengers (Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner) back for round two. In Avengers: Age of Ultron, Marvel's A-team go toe-to-toe with one of their greatest enemies from the comics: Ultron (James Spader), a killer robot who believes that the only path to peace is through the destruction of mankind. Can this super-powered sequel surprass its box-office-shattering predecessor? Age of Ultron can't escape the air of been-there-done-that, but that doesn't mean it isn't another solid entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Likewise, Disney's Blu-ray release (available in both 2D and 3D flavors) lives up to expectations, with an awesome A/V presentation and a welcome selection of extras. For Marvel fans, Age of Ultron is a no-brainer.
