Den Of Geek: Exclusive: the makers of Warner's 2018 movie of The Flash are going for a "tech-based" costume for its speedy superhero, we've learned...

Really ¬¬

So Iron Man that can run really fast <sigh>

How hard is it to get a costume right.

"So Iron Man that can run really fast"

The only thing that separates these guys is their suits and now it's are ruined!!! :(

In all fairness though if they can pull off a good looking tech costume that looks comfortable to move in and captures the character's spirit I don't see what the problem is. Micheal Wilkinson hasn't let us down just yet. So much thought went into the Trinity's costumes. I doubt they'll half ass Flash's costume, I'm sure they've taken so many materials into consideration.

"The only thing that separates these guys is their suits"

Like always, didn't say or imply that. It sounds from the article instead of wanting a the standard costume with a few tweaks, something which they did for Superman, they want something like this

Anyway I was hopeful on the suit since the guy playing him is....well....you've seen him. Asian-but not actually Asian Barry /s

This would be a good looking version. Best part is it's already designed.

@Chevalier

Ha! That seems too crazy. I don't want them to go too overboard on the metal. A more simplified version of the Injustice suit would be good. Maybe like the one he wears in the DC Universe online trailer?! Keeping metal to the minimum.

Chevalier3118d ago

All they need to do is bring in the metal pieces and not make it so thick and it's perfect. As long as it's thin metal armour I think it'd look great.

"Like always, didn't say or imply that"

You literally said it would be a fast running Iron man. That's besides the point. Why would you assume he looks like that Flash?! All he said was "like Injustice:Gods among us" so I assumed it would look a tiny bit like his default version. So much can be lost in translation. I remember Kevin Smith saying he saw the BvS Batsuit and it was "very Jim Lee" which in my opinion... it really isn't.

Vames3119d ago (Edited 3119d ago )

I like the idea of it not being all leather. A tech-based suit could explain why he can run so fast and still manage to have a squeaky clean suit that is free from wear.

A tech-based suit could withstand the force of his immense speed a lot better, just as long as it is not fully metal. Make it leather for comfort, but allow the mechanics and overall technology to tap into the speedforce to help protect his body and also the suit.

Bear in mind that at the end of the day, The Flash is still human, and the DC Extended Universe is being developed in a realistic setting. So it means, it would need to explain how the hell the flash can run at super-speed without being ripped apart. The Flash does not have super strength, his body cannot withstand certain pressures in the way Superman can.

If he gets shot, that bullet will pierce through his body like any other human.

Porcelain_Chicken used /s which means sarcasm. He didn't accuse you of actually saying that.

When they say tech based, they should do more of a fabric to resist high speed rather than armor.
Speed and armor don't go hand in hand.

gangsta_red3119d ago

I agree, especially now with tech and fabrics being just as capable as low grade armor.

I don't want to see Flash in some kind of metal suit.

RetrospectRealm3119d ago

Wasn't he kind of metal looking in Injustice? I may be wrong, but that suit was pretty dope.

gangsta_red3119d ago

Yea he was...wasn't a fan of the costumes in Injustice really.

I do like the new Flash costume in the New 52 though.

cell9893119d ago

well this already sounds discouraging

FreakyFox3119d ago

This is how things get lost in translation, with no real source.
All we have is: " We've also recently learned, thanks to a source who has inside information ... "

How many times have we seen this.

I just hope The Flash is a grown man not a kid who has just left school or still in high school this is the problem i have with Spiderman and the current Flash TV series, and the new Fantastic 4 is a trainwreck of characters too ... the greats are all grown ups who have the look that they have been though the wars.
