Everyone fawns over The Knick as being the show that has solidified Cinemax as a legit premium cable player (and it is a fantastic series), but in truth that all started off with Banshee. Jonathan Tropper and Greg Yaitanes’ series is full of brutal violence, yes, but it’s also capable of showcasing some truly beautiful filmmaking. It has also, over the course of its first three seasons, has created true connections among its characters (which is also thanks to the incredible cast), as well as real stakes that can make viewers feel uneasy about the fates of our favorites.
