Deadline
After securing eOne’s nail biting drone military thriller Eye in the Sky for north of $2M out of the Toronto International Film Festival, Bleecker Street will be rolling out the Gavin Hood-directed film on March 11, 2016 in New York and Los Angeles. Bleecker will expand the film to about 10-12 additional markets on March 18, and then another 15-20 markets on March 25 and will be wide by week four. For a title that had a lot of heat around it at TIFF, spurring an auction that included Fox Searchlight and Roadside Attractions, this is a prime month to launch Eye in the Sky: It’s post the 2015-16 awards season, it turns a new page for adult audiences thirsting for riveting, high brow fare, not to mention the spring season has gotten a leg-up for previous awards contenders like Grand Budapest Hotel, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and In Bruges.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
