The Martian Review | Entertainment Buddha

EB: Mars may have running water, but it’s most interesting story these days, at least for non-scientists, has to be Ridley Scott’s The Martian, which stars Matt Damon as a stranded astronaut on the Red Planet. The Martian is easily Scott’s best sci-fi film in years, and offers fans another look at his mastery of the genre thanks to its emotional narrative, strong lead cast, and of course the majestic beauty of the Red Planet itself. Its conclusion may be easily guessable for anyone who has gone to a movie over the past 100 years, but with that being said the level of tension throughout the film is palpable, and definitely elicits a few strong emotional reactions to the characters and their harrowing situations.
