Deadline: Fox’s Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials kicked off in 21 international markets a week before it lands in theaters in North America where it is expected to open stronger than the first installment which opened to $32.5M last year. Finals are in also for Paramount Pictures’ holdover Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation which had a record breaking opening in China (see below) as well as Universal’s Minions which enjoyed the biggest opening for an animated film ever in the Middle Kingdom.
