Don't you guys mean it's on temporary hold? What does "permanent hold" mean if not cancelled?!

UltraNova3326d ago

Putting a film on hold means production was already in early stages, because you cannot put something on hold that hasn't started yet. What they mean by 'permanent hold' is that all production is to be halted and postponed to an unspecified later date, not canceled though no.

This should have been the second thing they made along with a solo Batman film

RetrospectRealm3326d ago (Edited 3326d ago )

Nah, they can't just copy Marvel. BvS is gonna be dope.

@UltraNova - That's not permanent hold. That's temporary hold.

Spiewie 3326d ago

I'm looking forward to BvS, must give it a chance atleast. I'd love to see more solo batman movies though.

no thanks.
i dont need 2 superman movies and a fourth batman movie before justice league.

i dont need origin stories for every character. theyve been around for ages and if anyone doesnt know superman, batman or any other iconic DC character they must be living under a rock.

was iron man 2 neccessary in the grand scheme of things? it didnt introduce us to anything new at all with respect to the marvel universe. why didnt marvel make captain america 2 before avengers? isnt he the first avenger so surely they shouldve made a second movie about him, no? why make CA: winter soldier after avengers with nobody there to help him even a lil bit. thor? hulk? hawkeye? was iron man 3 really needed? or was it a tech demo for age of ultron to see if the tech was ready?

KingPin3326d ago

the english in that title.....WTF!

the definition of putting something on hold means it will temporarily not be dealt with or pursued.

you cant have something permanenlty temporary.

It's PR speak for canceled with a chance to come back someday. It's like when a band announces their "hiatus" really they mean they are breaking up but could come back one day (but generally it's unlikely). It makes it sound not as bad as it really is.

dcbronco3326d ago

I think that's it exactly. They don't want to completely discourage fans by saying this is never going to happen. They want to leave a crack in the door. Maybe hoping fans will pick up the banner and force the studio to move ahead with a project.

Superman and Batman are iconic characters. But at least maybe Superman needs to be put on hiatus. While Batman can use grit to reinvent itself. Superman doesn't have much movement to make him standout from what has been done in the past. Special effects will only take you so far. Look at Aquaman. I never thought I would want to see an Aquaman move. When I heard about it I kept thinking "Vincent Chase as Aquaman". After seeing their direction I'm in for Aquaman. I

A grittier Superman has already been done. It's called Hancock.

I'm so sick of batman. He got three movies. I get it. He's rich and can afford toys and he's angry again. Once again he will settle the score in an all-out fist fight. Superman should get a proper sequel. He is uniquely different from just a dude with a lot of money. I see that everyday in real-life.

DarkBlood3326d ago

well this sucks, wonder how long it will be before i see another superman movie.
