‘Sinister’ Alliance Continues As Helmer Ciaran Foy And Blumhouse Scare Up New Thriller ‘The Shee’

Deadline:
Blumhouse Productions is reuniting with Sinister 2 director Ciarán Foy on The Shee, an elevated thriller Foy will direct. Blumhouse’s Jason Blum will produce with Roads Entertainment’s Alan Maher and Foy’s own label Shadow Aspect. Foy was tapped for the Sinister franchise after making his feature debut on Citadel, which he wrote and directed and which premiered at SXSW in 2012. The film got raves, and won the festival’s Midnighters Audience Award.

Set in 1960s Ireland, The Shee is the story of a troubled young woman who must confront her violent and tragic past when she travels to a remote island. Foy joins James Wan, James DeMonaco and Scott Derrickson as directors who’ve done repeat business as Blum’s genre label. Sinister 2 was written by franchise creators Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill and debuts Friday from Gramercy.
