Knew they would do this

Only thing keeping the show going

"How can we make this show without Batman interesting"

"Oh I know lets just fill the show with Batman references and lots of young villains"

This show could have been so much more.

Well of course it would be like that! It only feels like foreboding because you already know what's coming! xD How else do you tell a story of Bruce's journey to becoming Batman without actually dropping clues here and there of what's to come? That would be like getting angry at a baker because what he is making is starting to resemble a cake!

I will admit that a lot of the villain cameos are awful. The Scarecrow, Poison Ivy and Catwoman arcs all feel incredibly forced. I'm all for telling an original tale based on pre-existing characters but their arcs are out of place and it's noticeable.

You make the series shorter and get straight to the point. People already know what's to come and all the show is doing for fillers is adding new characters or messing with the source material. It should have been something like...

Series 1 - 8-10 episodes. Gordon's story and establishing Gotham and it's crime. Bruces parents die in the end

Series 2 - Time jump, Bruce comes back from training all over the world. Switches between Gordon and Bruce. At the end he gets the concept for Batman

Series 3 - Tries to make his concept for Batman real, more villain references are dropped, leading up to the first big guy Bruce will take down as Batman. He becomes Batman at the end of the series

and so on

"Oh I know lets just fill the show with Batman references and lots of young villains"

That's literally the most obvious thing in the world when creating a prequel to Batman. Lmfao

No really. Have you even read what their original plan was for this show.

They were scared it wasn't going to work so instead of doing what they wanted they littered the show full of younger villains. So they just assume every person who will become a villain for Batman is already a villain now in some way.

Most of the villains and references are just forced. I mean "Ivy Pepper"...come on.

RetrospectRealm2026d ago

I didn't have to read that. That's literally what they're doing right now.

Number one sounds like a very basic outline of what they are doing now. Number 2 and 3 just sound like Batman Begins.

It's a shame when looking at Gotham and thinking "wow, it's a good 20-30 years before someone comes along and really starts cleaning up the streets.."
