A great movie doesn’t necessarily warrant a second viewing. Renowned film critic Pauline Kael never watched a film more than once; it was in her infamous opinion that a film should only ever be absorbed over the course of a single viewing – enough for her to “get” exactly what it was about, apparently – no second or third screenings necessary.
