Statham Is Out of ‘Daredevil': Why Leaks Can Sometimes Do Damage

You may not know this, but there is a very real danger to reporting factual information early when it comes to Hollywood productions. I’m not just talking about risking legal action from a studio’s law department or simply looking silly when the casting office zigs instead of zags and goes with someone else. We all like to be the first on the scene (or at least among them) whenever possible, but there is such a thing as showing up too early. It’s at this point in the game where your reporting becomes less about being “first” and more about being an actual hindrance to the production. Case in point: yesterday’s leak over on Latino Review about Jason Statham being targeted to play Bullseye in the second season of Netflix’s Daredevil.

If he was in fact in talks for this role, it's highly disappointing and unfortunate that he's opted out.

Disappointing but not surprising. Statham has stated many times that he dislikes playing the bad guy. He especially showed a lot of interest in playing Daredevil a few years back. I'm guessing he's still holding out hope for a role like that in the near future.

I guess it wasn't easy to do fast 7 then?

Who knows DarkBlood. I was just quoting him. Money talks? Or maybe playing a baddie here and there is ok? I know he's played quite a few.

He can play the bad guy for the shitty "Super Fast Cars, Big Explosions and Sexy woman who can hardly act" franchise but for Marvel's Daredevil....something which is so bloody popular right now he can't do it.

Your loss Jason

Fans thought you would be great in the role and you've threw it away.

Agreed!!!! The superhero genre is full of awesome characters though. Maybe he has someone in else in mind? Jake Gyllenhaal has been going after Batman for years. They wanted him as Dent and Rick Flagg which are ultimately supporting roles which he turned down. I'm guessing they both have their eyes set on someone in particular. The way Momoa and Johnson wanted Aquaman and Black Adam respectively.

could have been a publicity stunt all along and who knows, he may still be in it. quentin tarantino also said he wasn't going to the hateful 8 after the leak but decided to in the end.

i don't care one way or another with statham, the guy always looks the same and is two dimensional when it comes to acting.
