The 2015 Critics' Choice Television Awards aired on A&E tonight, live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
Hosted by Cat Deeley, the fifth annual edition of this ceremony honored the very best on the small screen, with awards doled out based on the voting of those who watch the small screen for a living.
Which stars and which shows took home the major hardware?
Just before jumping into the holidays and spreading that yuletide brotherly love, let’s pit the best movies of 2012 against one another in some of the must coveted awards competitions the industry has to offer. The Golden Globe, SAG and Critics’ Choice nominations are in, and it looks as though top honors will come down to “Argo,” “Les Misérables,” “Lincoln,” “Silver Linings Playbook” and “Django Unchained” amongst others.
Looking ahead, new details have surfaced on one of Johnny Depp’s next projects, Wally Pfister’s directorial debut, “Transcendence.” Mark Wahlberg’s “Transformers 4” co-stars have also been revealed, as has the possible plot for DC Entertainment and Warner Bros’ “Justice League” movie.

The second annual Critics’ Choice Television Award winners were announced last night, and Homeland was named Best Drama Series, following up its Golden Globe win in January. Claire Danes was named Best Actress for her role in the series (Breaking Bad’s Bryan Cranston and Giancarlo Esposito snagged Drama Actor awards). Other big winners included Community for Best Comedy, The Voice for Best Reality Series — Competition, and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon for Best Talk Show.
The Voice Of TV: Awards shows come in the dozens these days. Every year there seems to be a couple of new awards ceremonies, most simply replicating the major shows like the Academy Awards, Golden Globes and Emmys. We’ve already seen what disasters can be like, see the first annual Comedy Awards. The Critics Choice Television Awards aim to look past playing favorites and choose the shows that rightfully so deserve the awards they are nominated for
Well right off the bat they have it wrong. Best Drama should go to either Dexter, Fringe or Justified...not Friday Night Lights. There's no telling where they're getting their votes.
