Gambitcon - There is a fact that seems to be go continually ignored in American film – adaptations of anime suck. For real, there are quite a few Americanized anime films that have completely thrown mud in the face of their source material. Much like films made off of video games, there could be a lot of reasons behind this. Why bring this up? Well, there have been a couple of new films that have been announced, with speculation for other films, all of them based on anime. This should have anime fans nervous. Very, very nervous. What’s even stranger is that all of these films are going to be made on a budget. When did anime get so popular among Hollywood types? Or are they simply out of ideas and now going to wherever they think they can find gold?
