IGN: Droughtlander is over (well played on that marketing campaign, Starz), and rather than picking up with Claire and Black Jack Randall, we switched perspectives. The midseason premiere was told through Jamie's eyes, and it was a pleasant balance to hear from him, someone who's comfortable with the world and time period. Because Claire is not. Such a small switch but it served to give insight about how differently Jamie and Claire think about and see things around them and getting that peek inside Jamie's head goes a long way towards giving us an idea of how challenging their marriage is. And of course, seeing their contrasting thoughts fed perfectly into a dividing point for them: the spanking.
