Blu-ray Review: The Imitation Game | Cinematically Enigmatic

CE: Benedict Cumberbatch has a reputation for playing geniuses on-screen. And in The Imitation Game, he's at it again, this time portraying renowned mathematician and father of modern computing Alan Turing. Alternating between key moments in Turing's life, director Morten Tyldum's film evokes heartbreak, humor and inspiration, as it chronicles Turing's lesser-known exploits as part of an elite group tapped by MI6 to crack the German Enigma code during World War II, as well as his subsequent persecution for being a homosexual. Bolstered by a winning cast that includes Matthew Goode, Mark Strong and Keira Knightley, the result is a compelling portrait of a tortured genius that deserves to be owned on Blu-ray.
