The Americans “Do Mail Robots Dream of Electric Sheep?” Review (Season 3 Episode 9) - TV Equals

TV Equals: On a riveting episode of “The Americans,” a hard lesson was learned about the cost of taking a life- even a non-human one- in the wryly-titled “Do Mail Robots Dream of Electric Sheep?” The title is a reference to the classic 1968 sci-fi novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” by Philip K. Dick, which many will recognize as the source material for the cult classic “Blade Runner,” a film starring Harrison Ford that tanked at the box office- and with many critics- despite Ford’s considerable star power at the time, coming off of “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and the first two “Star Wars” films. Time heals many wounds, however, and the film has since rightfully been reassessed as a classic, and a sequel is even in the works.
