New Ghostbusters Director Not Sure What to Do With Iconic Theme Song

The Ghostbusters theme song is one of the most recognizable movie tunes to ever come out of Hollywood.

But will it be used in the Ghostbusters remake with Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon?

You had NO problem taking the iconic actors/characters out but this is what you struggle with? Someone needs to slap this jackass upside the head.

Then again i don't know if I want it associated with this movie. This movie sounds like a completely different thing, at this point I rather they left the theme out altogether in case we get a better reboot or a real sequel down the line.

the actors pretty much ruled themselves out.
well Bill Murray did, and the rest didn't want to do it without him.

and without the actors, you can't have those characters.

are you as unhappy about the other Ghostbusters movie they're planning that also doesn't feature the original actors or characters?

Ya I am actually. I understand that they can't be in all of the movies and that the torch should be passed on to others but I think that torch has to be handed off by whoever is left from the original actors. Have an ensemble cast with the original guys, bring in the new blood and going forward - it's their series.
