It’s not easy being Jonathan Kent.
Even after sacrificing himself in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, Superman’s adopted father is catching flack from, well, Superman’s adopted father. John Schneider, who played Jonathan Kent in the Superman prequel series Smallville, recently spoke ill of The Man of Steel’s interpretation of the famed Kansan, played by Kevin Costner.
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
Hmm, I don't think he meant literally let the school bus kids drown or don't save them. I think John was just kinda given a sudden question that was hard to answer. If I had a son, super powered or not I wouldn't be comfortable with him putting himself in danger. Especially in the amounts of danger Clark would be in had he revealed himself to the world. I think that's where the MoS John was kinda getting at. I think he could've been fleshed out a bit more but I still think he was a good Jonathan Kent.
My problem with MOS's Jonathan Kent is that he offered no real guidance to Clark. He just contradicted himself a dozen times with a bunch of trailer fodder lines.
I think they should've just had him die of a heart attack like the original, showing that Clark couldn't have saved him regardless of his powers, rather than sacrificing himself in a tornado.
