Following Walt Disney Pictures’ announcement earlier today that Star Wars: Episode VIII will hit theaters on May 26, 2017, 20th Century Fox has made a quick decision to move back Fantastic Four 2 from June 2, 2017 to June 9, 2017. While it’s not a huge push back, it does give the superhero sequel a bit more breathing room. Warner Bros. Pictures, meanwhile, hasn’t said anything about The LEGO Batman Movie yet, as that film also previously set a release date of May 26, 2017.

I'm skeptical as to whether this new Fantastic Four will warrant a sequel. It looks so bland. The costumes are uninspiring, the cast seems a little too young and it generally doesn't look fun. I know the previous films may not have been the greatest, but at least they had some fun in them.
