Some days are good. A few are great. But we’re going to go so far as to call this one super. Why? Because we’ve just been given our first look at our new small screen Supergirl.
I'mmmmmmmm.....not....too. ....surrrreeee.... o_0
It looks like the Helen Slater suit with a Man of Steel color scheme. I'm on the same boat as you. I don't know how I feel. It's ok-sh at best. I'll have to see it in action to give my final thoughts.
Doesn't really look the part IMO.
I like the color scheme, but I dislike the skirt, leggings and high heel boots! Couldn't she just wear pants?
Why would she wear pants? This is how the suit has always been.
sorry but that girl is so insipid :/, I think theres a trend into putting lame actors in the shoes of super heroes right now.
she looks bland
She doesnt look right as a blonde, its just too distracting to work.
Jimmy is now Black apparently. I am not in anyway racist but I am just so tired of things being forced down peoples throat by the liberal media.
Jimmy is a redhead. That is an iconic part of the character, like Supergirl being blonde (which they went out of their way to replicate even though the actress isn't blonde....hypocrites). The media is trying too hard with handling racial diversity.
I just don't understand why some people feel like replacing certain characters with different genders or different ethnicity to promote diversity. If anything it just increases backlash from the long time fans. It is very lazy and sad way of trying to get more money by broadening your audience. It is actually also very disrespectful to the minorities they are trying to cater for. If these people have enough respect for minorities they would create actual different race characters and promote them instead of turning known characters to different ethnicity and then sell them to these minorities. If DC do an Asian Superman I would be super pissed not just because I have grown up with a specific image of Superman that I love but more importantly I would prefer them to create an actual powerful asian superhero and promote him/her which would show respect to asian's like me.
When has Jimmy being white and a redhead played any impact or made any difference to his story or character. Please point out a crucial, life turning comic event for the character that requires him being white. People are trying to hard being absolutely close minded.
And when was Supergirl's hair color of any consequence? Yet look what they did. Physical iconography is part of the character. And you seriously go around calling people "close minded" over stating that a character that has been one way for decades is "iconic" to them? You must be fun at parties. @WelkinCole Makes sense. No one wants to feel like an after thought and making an adjustment to an existing character (usually in a limited run series or a TV show, too) is an after thought.
Looks like they're trying waaaaaay too hard to make her "not fan service because she's a strong independent woman" and forgetting that revealing and form fitting costumes are the norm of both genders. They truly chose the most bland, conservative design that they could. I mean, really? Hosiery under those boots? That collar/neckline (I'm not saying she should be showing a bunch of cleavage, but they could have done SOMETHING less bland)? Not midriff? Not a square inch of skin showing. Even New52 Supergirl's costume is better than this, and New52 is a sea of bad decisions.
Another balls up by warner
