Whatculture: Much to the surprise of just about everyone, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios announced last Monday that they had made a deal which would allow Spider-Man to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As great as that was, it was a little surprising that Sony had thrown in the towel and decided to reboot so soon; The Amazing Spider-Man 2 wasn’t the commercial or critical hit they’d hoped for, but it was also a long way off from being a flop.
