PopCults Review - Seventh Son

Richard of PopCults.com writes: I am sure that if Seventh Son was done in a way that it stands alone from the book series that Delaney started in 2004 I would have liked the film a bit more. Yes, it is still mired by some uninspired acting by the two biggest stars in the film and it did seem like a cookie-cutter “hero’s quest” story, but it had enough action and quality special effects to make it a decent movie. As it is however it barely stands above the medium line between mediocre and dull. I wouldn’t mind watching it again on Blu-ray when it is eventually released, but as for seeing it in theaters… it wasn’t worth the admission.
