Why would it? Nobody really liked his character aside from my sister and the way his character left the series by now it's likely to turn into a Space Magic show. Not saying that would be a bad thing but certainly a far cry from Star Trek.

This generation does need its own Star Trek, but I don't know if anything can ever beat Star Trek: The Next Generation.
