Netflix Is Developing a Live-Action ‘Legend of Zelda’ Series

“The Legend of Zelda,” one of the most popular videogame series of all time, is in the works as a television show at Netflix.

The video streaming service is in the early stages of developing a live action series based on “Zelda,” about an ordinary boy named Link who must rescue a princess named Zelda and save a fantasy world called Hyrule, said a person familiar with the matter. As it seeks writers to work on the show, Netflix is describing it as “Game of Thrones” for a family audience, this person said.

I don't know what to think of this...

Hard to do a show with a lead who doesn't speak. Will probably be okay I guess.

Hey it might make Nintendo give him a voice in the games if it does well

He needs to start to speak a little, Link needs better character development and the chemistry between him and Zelda needs to evolve. Can't do that when he doesn't speak.

I agree wholly with respect to link needing a voice. Maybe thats why I actually can't stand the legend of Zelda games. He's completely unrelateable and no development on who he is or why I should care about him.

He gets told what to do a lot and dosen't question it. He dosen't even speak through a voice box like other characters, he's just completely mute.

He's basically being b****** around all the time

No one is asking for a full on annoying voice but just get him to speak a little, mix in some Hylian words to make it more real to the world they are in.

Seriously I don't see why people are so against it. This is why Nintendo is stuck in the past half the time, because the majority of their fans defend them constantly and don't want them to become even better then they are.

You should check out the manga. He speaks all the time there.

This is just a disaster waiting to happen. Zelda has gameplay, but it's story is so abstract it could be summed up in a few sentences. Whatever they'd make, it wouldn't be a Zelda series per say, but just a "family friendly GOT" like they mused.

I can see this reaching 40 seasons. :I

OMFG! This is so awesome! I love Zelda. I always wanted a Zelda film, a Zelda series is even better! Maybe they should get Elija Wood to play Link. They should get Game of Thrones write to do this
