Fox Orders Pilots For 'Luther,' 'Frankenstein,' More

EW Inside TV:
Fox has added four new pilots to join The Minority Report.

First up: The network has ordered a cast-contingent pilot for Luther. Based on the BBC’s show of the same name, which starred Idris Elba, the one-hour drama pilot will track John Luther. Fox describes him as “a near-genius murder detective whose brilliant mind can’t always save him from the dangerous violence of his passions.” Neil Cross, who created the original program, is writing and executive producing. Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope, Jane Tranter, Julie Gardner, and Elba will also executive produce.

Other one-hour, drama pilots that have been ordered include Frankenstein and Rosewood. Frankenstein will tell the story of a morally corrupt retired cop, Ray Pritchard, who must choose between his old ways and his new perspective on life when he is brought back from the dead. Rand Ravich is writing the pilot. He’ll executive produce along with Howard Gordon.

I would love to see Luther come to Fox or any other station on a regular basis as a series but not unless Elba is going to play his usual part as Luther.
