Dude they are white washing it... Its a japanese character.. with a story that takes place in japan...and scarlett johannson? Really? cmon..

Sick of hollywood white washing everything.

Definently wont see this one in theatres... sounds like a wait for netflix title at this point.. doesnt matter how much of a fan i am of ghost in the shell...

and yes... Rinko Kikuchi would have made an awesome motoko

Rinko is an average actress .. everyone was trashimg the human scenes in Pacific Rim.

And scarlett johannsons acting is overrated... i see nothign special there. I will take somoene who actually looks liek the character first.

The white washing is going to get a lot of hate but being honest, the casting could have been a LOT worse. I actually think the GITS story is well suited for a Hollywood adaptation. I just hope they stay true to the story and don't dumb it down.

Margot Robbie would have been so much better like it was rumored a few months ago. I was very happy with her but Scarlett? I really can't see her as Monotoko. Every tough female character she plays is just the same, Black Widow.

But Margot Robbie can act, at least much better than Scarlett and then that body. Her body is so perfect like it was crafted just Motoko's prosthetic body. Even her teeth.
