While there were many rumors, things have turned into facts now, as the director for Star Trek 3 has finally been confirmed. The title already gave it away, so let’s not beat around the bush, Justin Lin is directing the third Star Trek installment.
There are many directors to choose from, and they decide to go with the up-and-coming Justin Lin, whose claim to fame is Fast & Furious. No offence to Lin, but when we are dealing with a franchise as well-known and well-respected as Star Trek, we should get a director who has actually some sort of experience in the science fiction genre.
