Here's to a better film than Into Darkness.

What's wrong with Into Darkness? Was one f the best films in 2013 to me.

As far as the action parts go, I did think they were better than the reboot's on a technical filmmaking level, although the copious amounts of lens flares while watching it in 3d was still really bad.

Most of my annoyances just come from a screenwriting/story angle:

-It was one of the most obvious, forced messages as far as making that one bad guy essentially be Dick Cheney.
-The supposed 'big twist' constantly being teased that everyone knew was coming beforehand anyways so it didn't make much sense to lie about it.
-A heavier emphasis in action that makes Klingons just look like space orcs.
-The absolutely laughable thing that happens to kirk at the end (involving special blood)

On a lot of levels, from the "Old Spock cheat book" they still have to the new characters included, the story and its various cliched or just plain dumb sins didn't mesh well here, and almost seems like sacrilege considering the source material.
