Sony Exploring Release Options For The Interview, No Online Service Has Offered Yet

"Sony hasn't had the best couple of weeks, they've had their systems hacked to reveal information that Sony's top brass hoped to take to the grave and after threats from some bonkers extremists, they've buckled in and cancelled the release of The Interview.

Both statements come from two different sources so I guess this is Ok. At least to me it is.

Ummm..... Sony kind of has a major VOD service right under their noses? PlayStation and isn't Ultra Violet theirs too?

The government is supposedly stepping in (rolls eyes) so utilize their protection, and the beefed up security of PSN, and release it exclusive there. Seems rather stupid to take your own movie and give it exclusively to another party when ALL money could run right through you instead.

Completely agree. They stand to lose big bucks if they dont release it, it would make perfect sense to put it out on their own platforms - no giving a cut to theaters, 100% profit

Or it could become a VOD and direct-to-DVD/Blu Ray release blockbuster monster hit.

Who knows?!

What are they going to do? Threaten to "9/11" every Walmart that carries it?

Oh right, that idiotic threat made about 90% of theaters back out from releasing the movie. So they probably will.

Its just a matter of time. Hopefully someone picks it up. Maybe Netflix
