Variety:
Lionsgate's “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1″ has cleared the $500 million mark at the worldwide box office in two weeks of release.
The domestic box office has hit $233.8 million as of Wednesday and the international box office has reached $271 million.
“Mockingjay” is the 128th film to gross at least $500 million worldwide. It’s also the seventh highest U.S. grosser this year and trails the top 2014 release, Disney-Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” by less than $100 million.
The Jennifer Lawrence tentpole is also more than halfway to matching the domestic total of $425 million for “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.”
With the new The Crow remake coming soon, we take a look back at the 30-year-old cult classic original–and where the stars are now.
Kaam Chalu Hai Review: Based on true events, this movie is thought-provoking and inspiring
Rebel Moon Part 2 Review: This movie doesn't feel anything new or worth remembering, which is a shame.
That's great, glad to see it's doing so good. Because of my being out of town and it being so hectic I didn't get to go see it. I am still waiting for the chance to go.
Catching Fire was alright, a step up from the first, and Mockingjay's a bit better than either. At this rate, it seems like they're still trying to perfect the love triangle they've struggled with this whole series, the same one that's thrown a wrench into oh, I dunno, the socio-political commentary that Susanne Collins intended in my view.
Wonder if Part II could be a billion dollar maker at this rate. The casting's alright and the effects are above average, but nothing I've ever understood on the basis of the sheer size of its appeal. Is Hollywood really this starved for heroines? The answer is yes.
That's crazy. I still need to watch the 1st 2.
I say 750, dont think its gonna break a billion
