Variety:
Matthew Vaughn's Marv Films has acquired the motion picture rights to the “Ghostgirl” series of young adult novels by author and filmmaker Tonya Hurley.
Vaughn and Valerie Van Galder will team up to produce.
“Ghostgirl,” published in 2008 by Little Brown and Company, centers on a high school senior who is desperate to be popular even after her death — from choking on a Gummi Bear. Subsequent titles have included “Ghostgirl: Homecoming,” “Ghostgirl: Lovesick” and a Spanish-language installment “Dia de Muertos.”
Nekki has announced that the forthcoming gun fu game, SPINE, will receive a movie adaptation to expand the franchise.
