Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) suffered a massive hack attack earlier this week which has left the internal computer network crippled. Threatening messages have been posted by a hacker group self-identified as #GOP (Guardians Of Peace) to meet their unspecified demands or face the disclosure of sensitive information such as Sony’s top secret internal data in addition to passwords and financial reports. Sony Pictures Entertainment suspects that North Korea is linked in this cyber attack. The timing of the attack coincides with the upcoming Christmas day release of “The Interview”, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco. North Korea has filed complaints with the United Nations over the film and even considered the movie as “an act of war”.
