Bilbo Learns a Harsh Lesson in New Hobbit Lego Stop Motion Bit

The BrotherhoodWorkshop has released another great Lego stop motion video, and this time around it features a parody of a scene from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

The scene is from Bilbo’s first encounter with Smaug in the Lonely Mountains cavernous gold room. Let’s just say Bilbo misuses his most important asset which gets him into a very serious pickle.

Five Things From Middle-Earth We Wish We Saw On Screen

CB: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is now in theaters, and represents the closing chapter of Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth film saga.

It’s been a long road, through six films with long run times. Jackson has displayed a clear love for Tolkien’s work, and has managed to bring much of it to life on screen through The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

I hate how they do these stories backwards, but I completely understand why.

Someone needs to do the Silmarillion, PROPERLY, I might add. Let the people who have only watched the movies know why Sauron is who he is and why he is feared/hated so much.

I personally enjoy this trilogy very much. But I didn't know that about the Director's Cut double dippings.

I would say that I fundamentally disagree with most of the choices. Stuff the absurdity of so many throwaway dwarves seemed to reflect that of The Hobbit book. It's cheeky comedy intended to have fun with keeping up with each one.

Yeah for instance with the barrel on the river scene, what works better for a film?

A bunch of dwarves floating leisurely on their way to Lake Town? Or a stylized set piece that was fast paced and fun?

There was way too much nitpicking in this article imho.

Great example imo. That was one of my favorite parts of the series where they took such artistic license.

Eh...not one of their best. I can see others annoyed with the time but I still see the magic in them.
