Donald Sutherland: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

WC

You just have to love Donald Sutherland’s voice, it’s almost as unmistakable as the fumes from your morning coffee rising into your nostrils. Father to the equally successful and unmistakable Kiefer Sutherland, Donald is no stranger to the world of Hollywood and aside from having some of the most recognisable vocal cords in cinema today, the guy is a damn good actor too. With a career spanning over fifty years worth of film roles, Sutherland has utilised his talents for more varied types of roles than you can shake a stick at.

Add/remove tag
With casting news like this, you need to add the tag for the actor since this is news specifically about that actor. So Donald Sutherland tag needs added here.

Freaking perfect. I love it. Truthfully I've never thought of who I'd want to play the characters, but as soon as they've announced the actor, I immediately know it's a good fit.

I know nothing about the books so I have no idea who would be good for what parts. Hell, I don't even know what the roles are.

I will have to admit, though, I am eager to see something about this. Given the synopsis and everything I've already heard about it, it should be one to watch out for. I'll be eager to see a trailer for it.

You should really check out the books. Honestly, I didn't even know about them until all this casting news started coming out, so I decided to pick them up. I finished all three books in about 4 days. I just couldn't put them down. And when I finished one book, I immediately went out and bought the next. They are incredibly well written, and actually seem to be a perfect fit for the big screen.

Yea, I'm not much of a reader anymore. And the time I do read, it's usually to read stuff like Sherlock Holmes or classic adventure novels.

There was a time I was into murder mysteries and Stephen King books a good bit. But yea, my reading days are in the past for the most part. Unless you count the funnies in the Sunday paper lol

That sounds like something I need to do too. Think I'll try and find them today. Like I have all the time in the world on weekends. I may have all the time in the world during the week but not on weekends.....guess I better find them today.

Im hoping it turns out to be a good movie, since Donald is in it should be but he was in the New Italian Job and that wasnt the best thing since sliced bread either. Though thats only one movie so hope/pray.

JL4703d ago

Donald is fine, but he's never been outright impressive or especially great to me.

And I actually like the new Italian Job. It's not the greatest, but I did indeed like it. Sutherland has far worse movies. Shadow Conspiracy and Virus come to mind.

I've only demoed part of the book. This guy seems like a good fit from what I've read into so far. But then again, he is one of my favorite actors, so I am a bit partial.
