The 90s were the home for a ton of must-watch comedy releases everyone should see at least once. -
Denis Murphy writes- I'm a massive fan of the original Dumb and Dumber. I rank it up there with great comedies like Withnail and I and Blazing Saddles. From selling a blind kid their dead parakeet with its head taped onto its body, killing a dude with hot chilli's, getting confronting by a trucker in a toilet for “manly love” to falling for the same woman that obviously ends with one of them being shot, Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey really helped create a comedy classic with Dumb and Dumber in 1994.
CE: Harry Dunne and Lloyd Christmas can be a bit slow on the uptake... which may explain why Dumb and Dumber To arrives a full two decades after the Farrelly Brothers 1994 mega-hit. The good news is that this long-overdue reunion between the Farrellys and stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels succeeds in recapturing the nostalgia of the original, and there's no shortage of sight gags, verbal puns, gross-out jokes and other farcical acts of juvenile delinquency (committed by middle-aged men) to tickle audiences' funny bones. Bottom line: If you dug Harry and Lloyd the first time around, there's a good chance you'll like this Blu-ray a lot.
I couldn't even bring myself to watch this on Blu-ray. My time is so much more precious to me.
Anything better than Dumb and Dumber, no doubt.
