The Gambler‘s story revolves around a literature college professor, who is a low-key high stakes gambler, who runs afoul of a loan shark and his gangsters. All the while, he is having an affair with one of his students, which leads to personal conflicts and other issues that the professor must think about, while getting chased by gangsters.
The film is written by William Monahan, directed by Rupert Wyatt, starring Mark Wahlberg, Jessica Lange, Brie Larson and John Goodman. The Gambler is set to be released on December 19, 2014.
